Airsoft M1 Garand?

With the emergence of WWII movies like 'Saving Private Ryan', 'The Thin Red Line' and 'Band of Brothers' the demand for airsoft M1 Garand has been growing in Japanese market. The increasing demand is supported by other releases of WWII related airsoft and model guns. Marui's Thompson M1A1 has been recently accompanied by Shoei's MG42, Tanaka's Kar98K and TOP will soon release their electric MP40. Fortunately for all WWII re-enactors, Smokey's has been able to go back to focus on their airsoft M1 Garand, as they have now finished their M82A1 Barret project. SGF M1 Garand is apparently soon ready to go into production with Smokey's officially unveiling their latest masterpiece in V-MAT 2003(which they are annually hosting), an large militaria focused exhibition. The actual release is expected to happen sometime this summer and what we could see the M1 is nearing completion. Smokey's is using real M1 woodstock and all the parts are metal made. Outer barrel is made from steel and this, together with real woodstock, makes the gun very realistic in appearance and general feel. To top all that, Smokey's has included space in the magazine holder for real rounds!

SGF M1 Garand is gas operated rifle with detachable gas magazine. Our educated guess is that the gun will shoot about 300FPS(100m/s) out of the box, since SGF is not restricted by ASGK manufacturing regulations.
